Best real estate reality show

Main Post:

Okay I’m also a fan of RHOBH so I’m probably biased, but just binged season 2 and this is hands down the best real estate reality show currently. I’m also a fan of the Oppenheim series (selling sunset, selling OC), but mostly use those as background noise or something to zone out in front of.

I was 100% captivated by Buying Beverly Hills season 2 on the other hand. There’s a good balance between actual real estate and the other stuff. It’s got plenty of storylines, but the drama doesn’t feel made up. There are scandals but people generally seem to be kind hearted and not pure evil (or acting evil for the sake of acting evil). When the family talks about their recent troubles, I genuinely feel for them. All in all, I just find it very real and relatable. Really well done.

I hope Netflix renews for a season 3!

Top Comment: I watched it twice lol. It’s so much better than Selling Sunset

This is sad news. What a young man who came across lovely on tv. Reading things like this terrify me at reminding me how fragile life is. Wish him and his family all the best.

What are your thoughts on Syfy Channels "SurrealEstate"?

Main Post:

If you haven't seen it it's essentially about a real estate company of a team who investigates hauntings and clears them out ghost buster style in order to sell the house. So far, I would say it's decent for what it tries, and some of it can be chilling (particularly the newest episode where a house explodes killing the entire family at the beginning), though it also mixes in some humor now and then which is typical for SyFy.

I would say one of my issues with the show is although it can set up a haunted house story and haunt pretty alright, each episode I have watched ends somewhat abruptly and anti-climactic? Oh here's a haunted house, here is how the owners respond to it, here is the real estate ghost busters investigating the history and experiencing the phenomenon itself, some more character/protagonist drama, OK now it's the last 2 minutes we have to wrap this up now here's the solution.

But its also only on its 3rd episode and still finding its footing so improvement might actually happen.

Top Comment: Seen 2 eps. Not really sure how to describe my criticism except for the writing just feels kind of unfocused and by the end of the episodes I just felt like “oh, stuff happened I guess? I don’t really feel anything about it though”

Which shows do you think hire actors as buyers/realtors?

Main Post:

Imo at least some of the realtors in house hunters international are fake, they go to these small remote towns with a population of barely 1000 people and find fluent english speaker realtors like what are the chances? I also suspect property brothers, especially when they have young but preppy and rich couples cuz young money usually indicates high profile job and/or family and neither type is very likely to go on a reality real estate show. And a person on twitter claimed that they saw the wife from an earlier episode roaming around in the party scene of a later episode so there is that lol

Windy City Rehab defintely does! The buyers of those homes would never go on tv. At least I wouldnt want to if I was buying a 1mil+ home. The buyers also for sure act like actors because normal people wouldnt act so natural on tv.
